Research into chaos magic, sigil practice, and magical thinking as a legitimate artistic methodology. This writing investigates how magical practices — their epistemology, their ritual structures, their relationship to belief and efficacy — inform and intersect with the broader practice of making research-creation work about family, land, and memory.
The sigil workshop held alongside the Sourdough Synth / Bread Altar project in the Land & Parks show is one site where this research became practice. The chaos magic research asks: what does it mean to take magical thinking seriously not as metaphor but as method?
