This essay moves between Kenneth Morrison — who worked the nail mill at Sydney Steel from age 16 to 54, then dropped dead at his door on the way to church — and the CUPE 3912 strike at NSCAD in 2026. It asks what labour means when the body that performs it becomes the site of its consequences, and what collective action looks like when you are both student and worker.
